Award Ceremony for the National Geographic Adventurer of the Year in DC! I did a photo shoot for National Geographic for their Adventurer of the year story so check out this months issue to check out the story and photos.
I am so excited to get back on snow this season and finally see the entire GB Collection on other people. Snowboard Magazine did a nice spread of my line in their buyers guide, if you haven’t had a chance to pick up the magazine here’s a look at the line and the layout.
My Friends at Snowboard Magazine did a feature of my set up call “Inside The Pro Model” here’s a peak at the article.
Golden Ride Magazine, an all girls snowboard magazine from Munich, caught up with me earlier this year, here is the resulting interview. Love the layout! Next time you are in Duetchland you will have to pick up a copy.
I’m going to Tony Hawk’s Stand Up For Skateparks benefit. This is his fifth annual event and will be filled with games, music, giveaways, I’m pretty sure there will be skateboarding involved, and of course live and silent auctions that raise money for Tony’s foundation which builds skateparks all over the country. I’ve donated a “ride with Gretchen” day so hopefully it’ll raise much dinero! Check it out www.standupforskateparks.org
So last winter I spent a lot more time than usual shooting photos and filming for the movies, and now is the time that I get a chance to see the fruits of my labor. One of the best trips was to Utah to ride powder at Snow Basin, a slew of girls spent a few days shooting with Stan Evans for Snowboard Magazine. The article is called Back to Basics and I can’t wait to get back to basics again this season and ride some of that epic Utah pow.
As you all know, I am very excited that my new GB Collection is finally available to everyone, so you all can go out and purchase which ever pieces you love the most. I did a photo shoot with Snowboarder Magazine to promote the line, it’s attached below but check out the magazine for a better look and of course check out Oakley.com to find a dealer near you.
In case you missed the Sports Section of October 9th’s New York Times I have attached the link to photographer Bess Greenberg’s photo essay about athletes and their outside interests. Bess, a former basketball player, shot beautiful portraits of the athletes in a way that dimensionalized their interests beyond their sports. I’m in there along with climber Steph Davis, BMX racer Jill Kintner, dancer Kristin Sloan, snowboarder/surfer/skater Chanelle Sladics and gymnast Dominique Dawes.

The latest issue of Women’s Health Magazine has hit the newstands and not only can you learn how to get a toned belly in no time flat but you can read all about the products I use on and off the hill. Women’s Health did a piece on a bunch of Olympic athletes and their beauty advice, no surprises as you already know I use mission products but you should check it out anyway.
