Legendary Banked Slalom

I’m back in Aspen after spending an amazing weekend in the back woods of Washington. I headed up to Mt. Baker for the Legendary Baker Banked Slalom to ride some old school banks, get a few powder turns and have a look back at what the contest scene used to be like. At this event, there is no prize money, no TV crews, no media hoopla or fancy energy drinks. This event is all about snowboarding and having fun with your friends with a little competition too. Click here to see the official site and see some of the amazing happenings from the weekend and if you’re free next February come on up to Mt. Baker and ride the banks with me.

My Signature Holga Cameras

Three years ago, I filmed Uniquely with the Oakley women’s team and we were each given a Holga camera to take photos with and I fell in love with the surreal, quirky quality of the photos. And now I have my own limited edition Holga Cameras! It’s so exciting to have two different Holga cameras to choose from, the 135B which one uses 135 format film and matches my GB Collection at Oakley and the 120N which the proceeds of will be donated to POW to support their efforts as the environmental voice of winter sports! Click the links below to learn about both cameras and to buy you’re very own!

Aspen High School Takes 21 Day Challenge

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to go back to my old high school, Aspen High and talk about the climate crisis. The amazing people from ACE (alliance for climate education) and POW have put together an entertaining and compelling program that educates and inspires teenagers about the climate and the impact their daily decisions have on it.  They ask everyone to join their DOT campaign, Do One Thing daily to lessen your impact; take shorter showers, use energy efficient light bulbs, use reusable bottles etc. Which ties nicely in with the 21 Day Reusable Challenge, so we finished up the presentation by having all of Aspen High School pledge to not use plastic bags, plastic water bottles and Styrofoam containers for 21 days and hopefully forever. I’m so proud of my Alma Mater!
