Snow Angels

The first annual Snow Angels Invitational at Aspen Snowmass came off without a hitch and was pretty much the best weekend ever. Thirteen of the finest ladies in women’s pipe riding came from all over the globe for a weekend of perfect pipes, massages, facials, cooking classes, environmental workshops and the usual good time spring antics. Two years in the making, this weekend was everything I wanted it to be and possibly more; great weather, progressive riding and a chance for all the girls to get together in a way the regular contest scene doesn’t really allow. Here are a few photos of the bash, more to come and much, much more from the Oakley crew

Canadian Mountain Holidays

I’m officially on vacation at CMH! Today was my first heli-shredding experience and now I finally understand what all the ruckus is about; the day was magic! The snow is the kind that must have provoked the name champagne powder, we’ve got an amazing crew, the CMH guides and staff are all so sweet, safe and FUN; we’ve already got into shotskis (a shot that is glued to a ski and you do it as a foursome) and bar stool rodeoing (ride an upside down bar stool like a bull)….and we just got here yesterday afternoon! Check out the photos for a quick look at what we’re dealing with and I promise to get some more action in the next couple of days for you to really get the feeling of the awesomness that is going down! Thanks to Transworld and CMH for having me along, now I’m going to be a totally jaded snowboarder who only wants to heli….I’m good with that YEAH!

Back in the US and at the Open.

I am finally back in the US and so happy to be home despite the fact that the month and half I spent in Russia and Japan has left me a little hoarse. Or maybe it was the general insanity known as the US Open. What is it with the east coast and it’s weather patterns? It rained, snowed, was freezing cold, super windy and then sunny for finals which was great for photos, but was a little less than awesome for finals. One wall was gleaming icy and bullet proof and the other was soft and crumbling.

Aaaaaah the Open, the crowd is amazing, the energy is awesome and it’s always nice to finish up my competitive season on the podium at the US Open. But now it’s finally time to head back to Aspen for a few days, re-pack my bags and head to up to Canada and ride some more pow.
